So yesterday, Kristen, Faye and I hung out. I was nice to hang out with kristen again....its been a really long time sense we have. Taking pics and watching the lion king, brought back so many memories.......ah who can forget those times. Hopefully we can re-build some type of a realtionship, and maybe even stay friends, so like her mother, faye will have someone else to watch her grow and do great things, but we will see....each day is a new step.

POVERTY
This paper was interesting to write. I love to research new things and learn about them in depth. Through this reasearch paper i learned to conduct an interveiw and put it into a paragraph correctly and learned more about the issue of poverty.
POVERTY
According to the UNICEF, nearly 30,000 children die daily from poverty. The UN Millennium Project states that an estimated of 1.2 billion people struggle to live on less than a dollar a day, and a total of 2.7 billion people live on less than two dollars a day. World poverty is becoming a growing problem and in turn pulling more and more people into it. I have had the pleasure to study the cause and effect of poverty, read specific information on the topic from an article, and interview several different people finding their outlook and knowledge on this issue of poverty.
There are numerous causes to world poverty that affects the issue, making it grow. In many poor countries there is the issue of a huge gap between the rich and the poor. The underprivileged people have no power against their rich government. The government corrupts these people, by making them afraid to speak up to tell their leaders what they believe in. The government creates unfair issues, making them into laws, which people cannot overpower. Also, during political debates, the people are shut out, another way of pushing the poor people out. Inequality is growing in countries as well between the rich and poor. The people cannot access better health care, resulting in many deaths. 26,500 children die every year, or one child death every three seconds. Children are not getting the vaccines they need, resulting in the spread of disease through communities. Parents are also dying quickly because they do not have the medicine to be cured, leaving many children orphaned and having to fend for themselves. In addition to issue of lack of health care, children are not being exposed to school. Without the knowledge from school these kids will not learn to read and write or learn other languages. Children will not be able to read new policies made up by the government, so if they ever do get the chance to rebel they will not be able to.
The BBC News released a recent article called, “World Poverty ‘more widespread’ ”, by Steve Schifferes. This article states in detail about how the World Bank believes poverty is greater than believed before, the regional differences, and the goals that may happen to these countries. “The new estimates suggest that poverty is both persistent, and has fallen less sharply, than previously thought” stated by Steve Schifferes. In this article new numbers have appeared. They are now saying that sense 1981 the number of poverty stricken families has grown from 1.5 billion to now 1.9 billion people. They have also stated that Africa is the least successful region of all the poverty regions around the world. The number of people hit by poverty as doubled in Africa sense 1981. In south Asia poverty has dropped from being at 60% to 40%. However, the biggest drop in these countries is china, with a huge drop from 85% to 15.9%. It seems more countries that improve, others collapse even more. It is believed that 100 million more people may be forced into poverty because of the rising food cost throughout the world.
I had the pleasure of conducting many interviews to find the knowledge and opinion on the issue of poverty. My first question asked is: “What do you think are some reasons global poverty exists at such a high and dangerous rate?” Kelsi Full states, “There are a lot of third world countries who have not caught up on technology, and the governments do not have the money to. The government can afford to pay people for more jobs, and many families don’t have the time for school because they need every hand to work farms.” Norma Kenley stated, “I don’t understand why these countries are poor and why others aren’t.” Robert Kenley stated, “Lack of Foreign Government responsibility.” My second question I asked my interviewees is: “Do you feel our country is doing enough to help lesson poverty worldwide?” Kelsi Full answered, “Because our country is in a economic crisis we can only do what we can to help, which is not much.” Norma Kenley answered, “No, because our country wastes so much money on unnecessary research, like which gender enjoys strawberries more.” Robert Kenley answered, “Yes, we give enough money.” My third question I asked is: “If you had no other choice do you think you can survive on $10.00 a day.” All three interviewees answered, “No, because everything costs too much.” The fourth question I asked was: “What do you think you could do to help?” Kelsi answered, “Give to more charities like Christians Children’s Fund.” Norma replied, “Give to more charities, but it is hard to trust them because of the high risk of scams.” Robert answered,” We need to take care of own country right now.” My fifth and final question was a follows: “If you had the chance to go to another country for one year and teach them, and help them get people more jobs or better ones, would you?” Kelsi and Robert both answered, “Yes.” And Norma Kenley answered, “I don’t know because I don’t think I could leave my family.
Poverty seems to be increasing worldwide. However, there are different opinions about what should take place for these problems to decrease, and how to help. As stated, some people think we should only focus on our own country, others think we should do all we can to help others survive. The statics are rising each year. More people are falling into poverty. More children are dying each day or others are being orphaned. “The new figures confirm that Africa has been the least successful region of the world in reducing poverty,” stated By Steve Schifferes. Is poverty only happening mainly in one country? People need to be taught more about poverty so we can all pitch in and help others.

I hated college when I started it and I still do, but writing this paper made me realize that I need to go college to become something I want to be. I didnt mind writing this paper, but for some reason it wasent my favorite to write, maybe because I could describe things, like i enjoy.
Effects of a college Education
Some people don’t understand the effects a college education could have for them. I am lucky enough to go through this college experience, learning as I go, and realizing what this educational experience will have in store for me. Some effects I know this experience will provide is success in following my dream of becoming a teacher, finally having academic achievement and gaining self confidence in what I do.
The major outcome of my college education is creating my dream of becoming a high school English teacher. College is the only place for me to get my masters degree. At college I will learn how to educate teenagers, understand teenage behavior, and create lesson plans. Becoming a teacher, I can work with people, teach my favorite subject and socialize with people who share the same love as I do. In getting my degree, I will have fulfilled my dream, and have a stable career for the rest of my life.
My entire high school career I never really care about grades, which now has delayed my vision on going to Longwood University. Now, I do have a second chance to have some academic achievement to get to logwood. Going to a community college, makes me want even more to get great grades to get scholarships to the school I want, to actually get into the school I want, and to know that I do understand what I am learning with good grades. College gives me an edge to do better and to learn what I need to learn, to earn the degree I want.
College has allowed me to gain some self confidence. I want to prove to people what I can do, I don’t have to pressure of the high school drama to try and fit in. At college I can finally realize and work at what subjects I am good at and subject’s I’m not so good at. People don’t judge you as much, so now I don’t have to focus all my attention on looks and trying to find a boyfriend. Everything I do in college is for me and me only. Having that self confidence finally helps me through studying, and trying to get good grades, and not worrying so much. College also offers counseling for free so I can fully overcome those types of problems that I do still struggle with.
The effects of a college education, helps me full fill my dream in becoming a high school English teacher, having academic achievement, and gaining self confidence. College does not always have the effect of just learning certain ideas for your career choice. Also college can help with dealing with emotions, and understanding yourself better. College is doing all of these things for me already.

THE BEACH

I enjoyed writing this paper. It was fun and it let me re-live my past experences of the beach. Some the challenges I faced was trying to perfectly describe certasin things at the beach so the reader could fell, see, smell ect. everyhting that I do when I get the chance to go. I have also learned new descriptive words for future use in papers.
My Favorite Place: The beach
For many people, there are many different favorite places or rooms. However, I am different from everyone else because I love a place for different reasons. I am the type of person to love a place for its beauty, adventure, or historical aspect. The beach at night is filled with an array of different scenery, animals, and sounds, making this my favorite place to be.
The scenery of the beach makes me get lost in the moment. Looking out past the waves at my feet I can barely see the white foam atop smaller waves in the background. As larger waves in front of me curl and the tide moves over my feet, white foam is left on my toes. Part of the scenery at the beach includes the moon. The only way to see the oceans beauty at night is by the moon shining on the water. It shines just enough to see the waves in the distance and to brighten up the beach. The moon also gives the sand a whitish color, as it pushes itself through my toes, warming them.
Animals come in many shapes, colors, and species. The beach is filled with many of these animals. Walking to the edge of the tide the sand moves with each step I take. Ghost crabs scurrying away from me making the beach even more unique at night. Also looking out slightly past my feet other types of crabs take a journey out of the sea onto the beach to their burrows, making sure to stay clear of the people standing at the edge. Although its dark, sometimes I am lucky enough to catch a glimpse of different fish jumping out of the sea to catch dinner. Sword fish seem to be the favorite fish to jump up for me to see. Or a fin shoots out of the water letting me know they are there. Also to add to animal collection, a series of different birds make up the beaches sounds and sights. In the distance I am always lucky to see a pair of pelicans making there way to the perfect spot to collect their dinner. Seagulls also hop around my feet never giving up the hope of me maybe having some food for them.
The great thing about the beach is it can be taken with you anywhere you go with its sounds. The sound of the crashing waves makes the beach worthwhile for me. The sound of the tide as it moves back and forth with the movement of the sea. The sand at the beach also quietly crunches under your feet as you walk to the water’s edge. The sounds also combine themselves with the smells of the salt water. It’s a kind of sweet-salty smell I love.
The combination between the scenery, animals, smells and sounds its everything needed to create my favorite place; the beach at night. Everyone has their own favorite place or room. Everyone loves their favorite place for different reasons, but my reason to love the beach is for its beauty. The beach makes me get lost in the moment of loving and respecting the sea, understanding its power and wanting to be there every minute of every day. The beach at night is my favorite place and I doubt that will ever change.

Read Between My Lines

So when writing i like to put myself in other places, even if impossible. Enjoy
Read Between My Lines
I am a book waiting for a reader.
I am not just words, I am emotion.
Read between my lines and see who I truly am.
My life is in the authors hands.
He controls my actions and personality,
But only you can take it to your heart.
Read between my lines and see who I truly am.
Each page tells you more about me.
Cant you see who I am….am I murderer or child lost in abuse?
Read between my lines and see who I truly am.
Put yourself in my place and feel what I feel, see what I see.
Don’t you understand, I can only live in your imagination.
Put yourself in my shoes and you will see who I am.Read between my lines and see who I truly am.
I am a book waiting for a reader.

Rain

Ok so this a poem i wrote. i wrote it when there was a huge storm the night before.
Rain
The aroma of freshly fallen rain,
Seeps through my bedroom window.
The essence of drought coming to a dead-end, lingers.
A small gust of wind pushes tiny trickles of water onto the moist roof tiles above me.
And still I start to drift into a deep sleep.
I jerk awake again with a sudden burst of energy from the storm.
Small rumbles of thunder, escape from clouds, traveling across the land around me.
I close my eyes again and count to 10, until an outburst of bright white lightening ignites the night sky.
Drifting off into an array of dreams, I dream of the rain.
I can feel the silkiness of each individual drop.
I taste the bitter-sweet taste of crisp new tears from the clouds.
I can hear the screams each drop lets go of when hitting the ground.
Crack!
My body jerks awake, again.
I stare out my bedroom window.
The sky is so illuminating, my eyes stay transfixed on the sight.
My eyes are drowning in tiredness.
But still I watch in awe at what nature can do.
The rain still shatters the silence of night, but its all worth it.
